51st Supplement to the AOU Checklist
The latest changes in taxonomy from the AOU have been published on line. As a result of the splitting of Whip-poor-will and Winter Wren, the Arizona
checklist gained two species (that is, both forms of both pre-split species have been found in AZ).

Once again, there has been a substantial re-ordering of elements of the list. For field birding, it has little importance except perhaps for grouping
species by voice in some cases. Our field guides don't need to change species order to help us ID the birds.
